Cole Melcher is a Tennessee and Kentucky licensed Broker and Principal Broker for Benchmark Realty where he oversees an office of more than 80 agents. A Middle Tennessee native, Cole is from Hendersonville, TN and has lived in the Nashville area for over 30 years. He and his wife, Katy, have been married for nine years and are raising their two sons, Lincoln and Grayson, alongside their family dog, Emmy.
Cole graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and began his career working in marketing for a Fortune 500 retail company. That background—combined with years of real estate investing—laid the foundation for his transition into real estate in 2008. His marketing expertise allows him to strategically position and promote homes for maximum exposure, while his investment experience brings a sharp, analytical approach to pricing and value.
With over 25 years of sales experience, Cole is a Certified Negotiation Expert through the Negotiation Institute and a Real Estate Negotiation Expert through the National Association of Realtors®. In addition to being a certified negotiator, Cole also holds the following certifications; Certified Buyer Representative (CBR), Seller Representative Specialist (SRS), & Accredited Staging Professional (ASP). Whether representing buyers or sellers, he is known for calm, informed negotiations and a strong ability to protect his clients’ interests.
Throughout his career, Cole has successfully closed well over 200 real estate transactions and has been recognized for his performance and market expertise. His accomplishments include being featured on HGTV, earning Trulia’s Top Agent Award in 2014 and 2015, receiving the Platinum Agent Award in 2015, and being named among the Top 100 Agents in the Nashville market in 2017.​
In 2021, during the Covid lockdowns, Cole took a sabbatical from real estate to recharge his batteries. He and his wife decided to tackle a decade-long dream of buying a sailboat and island hopping in the Bahamas. They took their two boys to Maryland where they bought their boat, and sailed it down the east coast and into the Bahamas.

Reenergized, Cole pursued another long-standing goal in 2022 by founding Graylinc Development, a company focused on building affordable, high-quality single-family homes throughout the Nashville and Southern Kentucky markets.
